ear ye, hear ye…
ords and Ladies, Dukes and Duchesses, Peasants and Knights of the Round Table, they all joined Bernhard in celebrating his 21st birthday and what a royal feast it was. Bernhard’s flat was completely transformed to the Medieval times by only a few minor adjustments.
ll his furniture was replaced with old benches and hay bales with wooden boards on top, served as small tables. The food was served on wooden boards and plates as colourful flags hung from the roof. The atmosphere would not have been complete without his friends dressed in fancy dress costumes and the merry Medieval music that played in the background. The incredible shield cake was created by Baked with Love.

While planning our wedding we decided to cut costs by getting a family member to film our wedding video. Only a few days prior to our wedding we decided to hire a professional video photographer instead.
Jaco Diedericks did a spectacular job and in such short notice! He truly captured the emotion and unique style of our wedding.
After our engagement on the 5th of November 2010, we tied the knot officially on the 2nd of April 2011, at a beautiful farm-style venue in Lydenburg called The Cow Shed. It was truly the happiest day of our lives. What a blessing to celebrate such a special day with those you love!
The weather was gloriously sunny, with a pleasant breeze. All our meticulously made wedding plans came together beautifully, but I can assure you that nothing would have been possible without the hard work of our family and friends. A simple “Thank you” to all those who helped will never be enough!
I would describe our wedding as quirky and farm-style. Our theme was inspired by many of the blogs we visited, but we still wanted the day to be unique to us. After many brainstorming sessions and loads of DIY projects, we successfully hosted our dream wedding.

After blogging about our Save the Dates I couldn’t wait to do a post about our wedding invites. We wanted our invite to reflect both our personalities with a clever twist between modern and vintage design. After browsing many wedding blogs we came across the most unique wedding invite concept. The couple (Iaan & Christine) used their invite as a platform to tell their love story. We pulled LOADS of inspiration from their invite for our own design. We also added to our invite a “Survival Guide” to give our friends and family more information on our wedding weekend. The “Survival Guide” information was also placed on our wedding site: fradri.wordpress.com

Bianca and Royston from Cape Town asked me to assist with their wedding stationary.
I had the pleasure of designing and making the wedding invites, table seating plan and their confetti cones.
They selected a pretty pink, silver and white glamour theme, which is right up my alley, since “pretty pink” is what gets my heartbeat going. Using this gorgeous theme and colour scheme made this a very fun and exciting project to work on.
